Great achievements origin from a spirit of hard struggle. Mr. Wang advocates four spirits “a dedicative spirit, a fighting spirit, a down-to-earth spirit and an innovative spirit” most as his business rules. Hexi Gold Mine of 1993 was a small mine on the verge of bankruptcy. Its management was a mass. Salary couldn’t be paid out and workers were laid-off. In such an emergence, Mr. Wang took over the business. He made reforms without capital and technology supporting. But only for a decade, Hexi Gold Mine has developed into a prosperous company with 1,500 staff, a mine area of 55 square kilometers, ten production mines, two beneficiation plants, daily capacity of treatment of 1,000 tons and a complete production system ranging from prospecting, mining, beneficiation and smelting. Its gold output ranks first in eastern Shandong. Moreover, its tax payment reached over five million yuan in 2006, becoming a well-known gold enterprise in eastern Shandong.

For years, Hexi Gold Mine was awarded “Provincial Contract-observing and Promise-keeping Enterprise,” “Yantai Model Unit for Safety Production Management” and “The Enterprise of No. One Gold Output” under Mr. Wang’s scientific management.

Bearing where the happiness comes from and devoting into public service

As Board Chairman of Hexi Gold Mine, Mr. Wang is grateful for the favors received. He realizes his self-value and never forgets to repay the society. From 1994 till now, he has funded more than thirty underprivileged students and donated more than five million yuan in all for social public service and educational undertaking either on behalf of himself or the company.
He donated 100,000 yuan to Penglai Youth Education Foundation in 1997, which greatly supported the educational business of youth in Penglai.

For years, a dozen of needy youth funded by him have got access to many famous universities, among whom, Guo Dechao has obtained doctor degree of Yale and Lin Demiao is a graduate student of Tzinghua University. Besides, Liu Huijie and Liu Huichao who are sister and brother are able to receive education thanks to Mr. Wang’s economic support.

Water pipes funded by Mr. Wang were installed in four villages in 2001, which solve the problem of water in mountainous areas. The villagers spontaneously built a stele on which “Yin Shui Si Yuan, Gong De Yong Cun” that means when drinking the water, think of its source gratefully, to express their thanks.
Moreover, he raised 1.5 million yuan from various parties in 2006 and built a high-standard kindergarten which he donated to Penglai Bureau of Education for free to provide high-level modern early childhood education for local villagers and children of migrant workers.

In order to uphold the project of extending roads to every village proposed by the Municipal Party Committee and Government, he provided money to improve the traffic conditions of local villages including East Shipeng, Huluxian and Hougezhuang. Then in March 2007, Hexi Gold Mine was rated as Top Ten Best Enterprises Supporting Village Construction by Penglai City Party Committee and Government.

Carrying forward national culture and constructing corporate culture

Economy is being developed so as the culture. Yantai Liu Opera Theater Jinmao Art Troupe was set up with the joint support of Shandong Yantai Bureau of Culture, Penglai Bureau of Culture and Yantai Liu Opera Theater on January 16, 2005 of lunar calendar. The troupe plays in towns and villages during festivals, holidays and village gatherings. It has played more than thirty times so far. The plays enrich villagers’ life, strengthen the connection between towns and villages and intensify corporate coherence. Its establishment makes great contribution to the spiritual construction of socialism and economic development.
